This is a 1990s master-planned estate, built on the former State Brickworks and Timberworks land and centred on the man-made lake that gives the suburb its identity.

Almost all of it went up after 1992, so brick-veneer project homes from that single construction wave dominate, with a growing share of townhouses filling in more recently.

Original storage hot water units from that early-1990s build are now well past their working life, and they tend to fail without any warning at all. Along Woodcroft Drive and Bricketwood Drive, that's the single most common emergency callout we get.

This estate backs onto Mount Druitt territory, so a visit here needs no special arrangement.
